How does gum contouring work?
Our gum contouring typically takes place in one visit. You will have local anesthesia to numb the area we treat. Generally, it takes 1-2 hours for the procedure. Your gums will be cut and contoured using a soft tissue laser. This can lead to some tenderness.
Dr. Diana and her highly-trained team want you to feel as comfortable as possible. Your recovery may take a few days or weeks, depending on the extent of your surgery. Our advice is to eat soft foods for 2-3 days after your procedure. We provide follow-up care, and our team is on hand to answer any questions. We check in with patients a few days or a week after having gum contouring.
